Pain Is Weakness Leaving The Body

In today’s episode, we’re are going to talk about how pain is just weakness leaving the body.

Hi Everyone, welcome to the You’re Daily Cup of Joe Podcast, with your host Joe Bautista. In this podcast, my goal is to give you quick lessons that you can reflect on in your journal so you can grow yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually and have a better career, better relationships, and better personal finances while you enjoy your morning cup of coffee.

At the end of today’s podcast episode, I’m going to give you a prompt question to reflect in your journal. The idea is to take one to five minutes to reflect on today’s lesson and write a minimum of one paragraph on how you can apply the lesson in your life. You can use an actual journal, a word document like on Google Drive, or your note-taking app like Evernote. The idea is that you’re actually thinking about how to process the information to help you improve your life.
In today’s episode, we’re are going to talk about how pain is just weakness leaving the body. There is a difference between pain and suffering. You don’t want to suffer through something because that means you’re just dealing with something and it’s really not changing. Pain is something that shows you’re moving in the right direction.
I got this term from the Marines and going through boot camp was something that was difficult for me but I feel really accomplished for completing. To do 12 weeks of Marine Corps Boot Camp, makes a lot of other things seem easy. That is what happens when you go through something painful and survive. It just makes you more resilient in life. I didn’t have this mindset back then when I was 18 years old but now after reflecting on that experience, I realized that the pain of going through boot camp was really just weakness leaving the body.
I feel like I was really sensitive before boot camp and remember crying when I was able to talk to my mom on the phone after two months after not talking to them, but then I felt like I was able to be away from my family so I could work on my bigger goals. Staying in the same town as my parents was not going to help me become the person I want to become in life. After coming back from boot camp, I realized that there are more things for me outside of my small town and that I need to be okay with being away from my family. Now I’m traveling through Latin America by myself so I can learn Spanish and so I can provide financial planning to Latinos in Spanish.
To be where I am now, I needed to get rid of the weakness of my body. Now this concept applies to your health, your career, and your relationships. Sometimes you need to go through a really painful breakup so that you realize who you are as a person and what you can improve on. Or just realize that who you need to have in your life.
When it comes to workouts, an effective workout is one that is painful but you’re not suffering through. I have plantar fasciitis and I don’t really run anymore. So if I was to go on a three-mile run, I would really just suffer through it because my foot would be killing me the entire way and then I might cause some bigger damage to my foot. I can do another workout like high-intensity interval training which can give me the cardio I’m looking for but also be more genital on my foot. It will be painful but I won’t be suffering. Then I’ll get stronger as a person and then I’ll be able to handle more of life’s challenges.
Pain is also something that we should be seeking out and not avoiding. It is very natural for us to avoid pain but pain instructs. It was painful to write and record these podcast episodes when I first got started but after sticking with it for 7 months, now it’s a lot easier. Same thing with my workouts. It sucks at first but then I get stronger and then they become easier. I got rid of the weakness and now I’m just left with being a strong individual.
There are other painful things in my life that I need to face. One thing that I want to try in the future is to do a five-minute stand-up comedy routine. This scares me a lot but I know it is something that can help me in other parts of my life. I just know that it will suck at first but then it will get easier with time and practice. I know I have the power to level up. I might not become world-class in something but at least I can become better if I focus on getting through the pain.
Everything you basically want out of life is on the other side of pain and fear. It can be painful to walk up to that person you want to talk but if you go through it, it will help you get closer to the person you want to become. So I try to seek out the pain but I’m not successful every time but I do tell myself that this is required to help give me the life that I want. And that’s what this is about, is having to the life you want and not suffering with the life that you were given. I know time is short and I don’t want to have to deal with things longer than I have to. This is why you should seek out the painful things that will remove the weakness of your body.
You don’t have to go full force but work your way up. Success doesn’t have to come overnight but it should come eventually. So do those tough tasks and start living your life.
That’s it for today’s episode, to summarize it, pain is weakness leaving the body. The key thing is that you don’t want to be suffering because that is harmful. Pain is an indication that you’re moving in the right direction. So we need to be comfortable with dealing with that tough workout, conversation, or project that we’re working on. Do this enough times, and you’re going to remove all the weakness from your body and become one strong individual. Remember that everything you want in life is pretty much on the other side of fear and pain, so the faster you can be used to this process, the faster you’ll get to the life you want. And why wouldn’t you want the life you want?
So in your journal, ask yourself, what is something painful that you need to go through to help you get the life you want? Are there resources you can use to dampen the pain. Just because something is painful doesn’t mean you have to feel the full force of it. Do you need to have a coach help you out? Do you need to find another resource to help you out? Do you need to fix something smaller first before you working on this bigger item? Just think about the future you want to have and start doing the painful things to help you get that future.
